Panjim, March 12 : Davorlim Sports Club showed their class and some vintage soccer defeating Verna Sports Club 4-0 to enter the finals of Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup 2011 soccer organised by Pax of Nagoa Sports ground today.
Davolim could have taken the lead in the 6th minute but the Verna goalkeeper brought off a fantastic save. There was no score in the first half.
Davorlim drew first blood through Romeo Colaco when he played his free kick through the wall. As Verna were trying to gain some control and come to terms, Davorlim came up with the second goal through Verson Figueredo the very next minute.
The Verna boys were subdued in every department and could not match the opponent’s quick reflexes and great combination.
With Verna still trying to regain control Davorlim displayed fine combination and were rewarded with the third goal through Paxton Gomes.
Davorlim scored the fourth through Verson Figueredo.
Verna boys resorted to some rough play. Santan Rego was red-carded.
Melwin Figueredo was adujudged man-of-the match.
