SANGUEM: The feast of Our Lady of Miracles was celebrated with great enthusiasm, joy, and religious fervour on Saturday, drawing hundreds to the Sanguem church to seek blessings.
Fr Ubaldo Fernandes, Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church, Cavelossim, was the main celebrant at the feast Mass, joined by Fr Tony a, SFX, Vice Postulator at Pilar, who delivered the homily.

In his sermon, Fr Tony encouraged the congregation to follow the example of Our Lady of Miracles and be living witnesses to the teachings of Jesus Christ. He emphasised the importance for the Catholic community to share the good news of Jesus Christ and to remain truthful in all their dealings.
The celebration also saw participation from people of other faiths, including Hindus, reflecting the inclusive nature of the event. Known as the Purumentachem Fest, the week-long fair following the feast attracts a diverse crowd. The fair offers a variety of products, from furniture to edible items like masala, pulses, cereals, and the much-sought-after dried fish.
Fr Romeo, the Parish Priest, expressed his gratitude to the parishioners and the priests who co-celebrated the feast mass.
