PANJIM: Chandan Caro and Prutha Prabhu Parrikar emerged champions in the men and women singles category of the Sarsangan Table Tennis tournament organised by the Saraswat Sports Sangh Charitable Trust, at the indoor hall, Quepem Sports Complex, recently.
Chandan Caro outplayed Surendra Chube 11-6, 11-2, 11-3; while Prutha Prabhu Parrikar outsmarted Pradnya Caro 10-12, 11-8, 11-9, 11-9.

In junior boys, Chandan Caro defeated Surendra Chube 11-4, 11-1, 11-7.
Girls: Pradnya Caro beat Neeza Kamat 9-11, 11-7,11-6,11-3.
In men’s singles 40+ category, Venkatesh alias Gaurish Burye won against Deep Bhende 11-5, 11-6,9-11,11-5
In men’s singles 50+ category, Chaitanya Tarcar beat Rajendra Naik 13-11, 11-8, 11-6.
In men’s open doubles, Venkatesh Burye/Durendra Chube beat Dinesh Sinari/Sagar Kulkarni 11-7, 11-8, 10-12, 11-5.
In men’s 40+ doubles, Venkatesh Burye/Mayur Sawkar outplayed Dr Shailesh Kamat/Parag Kamat 11-7,11-2,11-5.
In mixed doubles, Suresh Karapurkar/Prutha Prabhu Parrikar lost against Dr Rajendra Naik/Neeza Kamat 10-12, 11-6, 8-11, 9-11.
In men’s 100+ doubles category (combined age 100 or less), Rajendra Naik/Vishnu Kolwalkar defeated Sagar Kulkarni/Suresh Karapurkar 11-9,12-14, 11-6, 4-11, 11-9.
Speaking during the prize distribution ceremony, Chief guest Balkrishna Hodarkar congratulated the Saraswat Sports Sangh Charitable Trust for the successful organisation of the table tennis tournament wherein 86 players participated in different categories.
Guest of honour Vitthaldas Bhat appreciated the players who had come from various parts of Goa and gave their best during the tournament wherein the old champions had to make way for newer ones. Haresh Kakodkar welcomed, Vaibhav Kamat compered, while Dr Satyesh Kamat proposed a vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, Sarsangan U-25 boys and +45 veterans’ cricket tournament will commence from November 19, while the auction-based eight teams will compete in the Sarsangan Super Series, which start from January 14, 2024.
