Preetesh Mayenkar put Benfica in the lead in the 7th minute. Abdul Shaikh equalized for Cortalim but Xavier Pacheco, who was in his elements today, put Benfica ahead once again. Preetesh then scored in the dying minutes of the opening half.
In the second half Preetesh and Xavier completed their hat-tricks.
In another match, Vasco United FC defeated Patrong Sports Club 3-0 after leading 2-0 at half time.
Venzilo Soares put Vasco United ahead in the 37th minute. Shivam Barrik scored the second goal at the stroke of half time.
In the 77th minute, Venzilo completed his brace to put the issue beyond doubt for Vasco United who were making their maiden entry into the Third Division League.
