PANJIM: The regional chess tournament of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangatana, Mumbai region began at Kendriya Vidyalaya INS Mandovi on Friday and will conclude today.
The first day of the tournament witnessed 3 rounds of U-14, U-17 and U-19 boys tournament and 2 rounds of U-14, U-17 and U-19 girls tournament.
The U-14, U-17 and U-19 boys and girls chess tournament was inaugurated by Sanjay Belurkar, member of Goa Chess Association in the presence Principal Pratap Singh who extended warm welcome to the guest, escorts and participants registered for the tournament.
The tournament is being conducted under the supervision of Swapnil (Fide Arbiter) as the chief Arbiter and Gautam Tari (Fide Arbiter) as the deputy Chief arbiter along with Narayan Vast as the Associate Arbiter.
A total of 75 participants registered their names for the tournament.
The top ranking player will get a chance to participate at the National Level.
