kidney ailments: 45,000 Canacona locals to undergo urine tests

It seems finally something positive in the pipeline as efforts are definitely on to take care of Canconcars kidneys in the days and years to come.
If Shri Nirankar Education Society President Prashant Naik is to be believed, approximately over 45,000 residents from Canacona taluka of above five years will be subjected to urine tests to determine any impending kidney ailments beforehand.
This massive exercise will be first taken up at Maxem on August 15 subjecting 100 students of Satyawati Soiru Angle Higher Secondary School, Maxem-Loliem for urine tests.
Naik informed that this enormous task will be carried out through NSS students from the taluka, who will make serious dent to visit each and every household, even if its means tasks of several visits to conduct the urine tests on all the individuals from the households.
Naik also informed that primarily all NSS students will be provided with requisite knowledge of the tests and provided with necessary appliances and chemicals to conduct the otherwise a very simple and calculated urine test to determine kidney functioning.
Recently, Director of Health Services Dr Rajanand Dessai had called a meeting of teachers, headmaster and Chairman of Shri Nirankar Educatin Soceity in this regard, informed Naik.
Nirankar High School Headmaster Jayram Gaonkar, SS Angle teachers Anant Agni and Kavindra Dessai were also present along with Prashant Naik, who divulged details about the urine tests project.
It may be recalled that several Canacona residents are reeling with kidney ailments with residents calling on the government to take up a cause-study survey and accordingly come to the residents rescue, who are feeling seriously threatened due to the unknown trend of many Canconcars hitting with kidney ailments.
