VALPOI: The main road of Hivrem Budruk village has been lying neglected and is in bad condition for the past 15 years and no effort has been made to repair it.
Several accidents have occurred on this road especially in the monsoon season. Besides, villagers also face health problems while driving vehicles on this road.
Villagers say the water tankers too do not visit the village regularly because of bad road.
“Our village main road is in a bad condition, for the past 15 years. We have complained to the concerned road department and the local MLA on several occasions, but they have not taken any action. For the past several years everybody has neglected our problems. We get only tall promises but in reality nothing is being done,’ says Pandurang Gaonkar, a villager.
“Our village main road has many potholes and it is difficult to ride and drive on this road. We also face health problem due to constant dust, while riding and many accidents too have occurred on this road,” observes another villager, Ajit Gaonkar.
We have raised the road issue in gram sabha and our panch member has already submitted the file in this regard to the concerned department in Valpoi. The department officials say they have submitted the road file to the government. Now we demand that the government should build the road before rains, otherwise we will organise a morcha, another villager Vishwajeet Gaonkar said. Panch Satyawan Gaonkar claims to have done his job and the ball is now in the government court.
“I have done all the process and have submitted the file to the government, but the engineer is delaying to tender the file,” he pointed out.
