There was tension in Velsao after a civil contractor of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited began installing barricades parallel to the existing railway track near the Velsao level crossing and barricading the right of way that has been used by locals for generations. Velsao locals along with Goencho Ekvott (GE) stopped the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited work and asked them to stop the work after Goencho Ekvott produced court documents proving that the matter is sub-judice. RVNL is carrying out the double-tracking work for South Western Railway (SWR).
