Find a solution to frequent traffic jams in Siolim

Siolim-Marna villagers are facing traffic jams practically everyday during the evenings between 4pm to 8pm due to the rush of the tourists travelling from Calangute/Anjuna to Morjim/Arambol, the hotspot beaches.

Siolim villagers have to face the brunt of poor road planning and pathetic enforcement by the local body and traffic police on this MDR-6 and to top it are the encroachment by the vendors.

There is no parking provision, no road dividers or paintings on the road for proper traffic management. This result in waste of time for the villagers to cross the road, senior citizens and children are at risk while walking on this road to the school or shops, church and temples. And to manage this, the traffic police puts their lives in danger.

I request the Sarpanch to convene a meeting of VP Siolim-Marna Road Safety and Traffic Management Committee, vendors, the traffic police, the PWD and the TCP to discuss the issue and find a solution to these frequent traffic jams at the earliest.
