PANJIM: St.Xavier’s College Mapusa defeated Shree Mallikurjun College, Canacona by 8 wickets in the ongoing Goa University Inter-College Cricket Championship.
Mallikarjun batted first and scored 63/10 in 14 overs. Viraj Puranik 13 was the lone double digit scorer for Mallikarjun while Rupesh Azgaonkar 3/11, Shriram Kalangutkar 2/14 and Rajat Shinde 2/6 excelled with the ball for Xavier’s.
In reply, Xavier’s reached the target in just 7 overs. Viraj Mahamal 36 not out top scored while Cavin Dias 1/11 bowled well for Mallikarjun.
Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna won by 6 wickets against Don Bosco College, Panjim.
Batting first, Don Bosco scored 117/9 in 20 overs. Neel Sanzgini 27 not out, Devasish Magumdav 22 and Michael Johnson 17 were the top scorer for Don Bosco while Pawan Kumar and Yash Prabhugaonkar 3/27 bowled well for PCCE.
In reply, PCCE reached the target in 14.4 overs. Ekansh Tari 32, Mayur Govenkar 27 and Abhishek Aroskar 17 scored for PCCE while Devasish Magumdav 2/32 and Yogesh Naik 2/28 fought with the ball for Don Bosco.
Govt. College, Pernem defeated Govt. College of Commerce, Margao by 132 runs and Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao beat CES College, Cuncolim by 20 runs. Pernem batted first and scored 215/2 in 20 overs. Rama Gaonkar 115 not out, Sakharam Narulkar 58 and Prakaesh Sorest 20 were the top scorers for Pernem. In reply, Govt College, Margao just managed to score 83/10 in 16 overs. Sakharam Narulkar 2/8 and Bhiva Tendel 2/6 struck for Pernem.
Chowgule beat CES College, Cuncolim by 20 runs. Batting first Chowgule scored 158/8 in 20 overs. Dhiraj Naik 54, Samih Kunttan 37 scored for Chowgule while Sameer Velip 2/23 struck for CES. In reply, CES scored 138/8 in 20 overs. Babloo Zore 32 and Sumit Dessai 50 topscored for CES. Akash Telgir 2/20 and Rohan Kale 2/16.
Shree Damodar, Margao defeated Pharmacy College by 146 runs. Batting first, Damodar scored 205/3 in 20 overs. In reply, Pharmacy scored 59. Chinmay Kutarkar 73, Sarvesh Shirodkar 44 and Darshan Karekar 42 were the top scores for Damodar. Rakesh Parab 15 was the top scorer for Pharmacy. Srinivas Fadte 3/3 was the best bowler for Damodar.
PES Ponda won against Narayan Zantye Bicholim by 3 runs in the super-over. Zantye batted first and scored 137/10 in 19.4 overs. Vaibhav Parab 30, Ranjit Gosawi 20 were the top scorers for Zantye. Ravi Dhargalkar15/2 and Suraj Kerkar 15/2. Ravi Dhargalkar 51 was the top scorer for PES. Ranjit Gosavi 29/4 was the top bowler for Zantye.
In super over PES scored 11 runs but Zantye fell short by 3 runs.
