Villagers and Goencho Ekvott stop RVNL from trespassing into private properties at Velsao

Tension prevailed in Velsao-Pale as RVNL personnel descended at the Velsao level crossing and trespassed into private properties to conduct a land survey in the area. Villagers accompanied by the Goencho Ekvott members questioned the RVNL personnel about the purpose of the survey, who remained mum.

After a confrontation with the Sarpanch, the RVNL personnel admitted that they had come to survey the area for railway double tracking, but without authorization from the District Collector. Founder, Goencho Ekvott Orville Dourado Rodrigues stated that RVNL is illegally laying claim to land adjacent to both sides of the existing railway track, which was kept by their ancestors for the villagers to commute and access nearby residences.
