Dr Parsekar expressed concern over people keeping their water storage barrels open for several days which is a breeding ground for dengue mosquitoes.

“Dattargarh-Bethora area is major concern as it is very dirty. The locals need to clear stagnated water,  dispose scrap tyres around their houses and also adopt safety measures including proper covering of  scrap vehicles at roadside”, she said.

She also urged the police to cover the scrap vehicles lying in the police station as it is breeding ground for mosquitoes.

PMC Chairperson Ritesh Naik assured full support and also called a meeting of all councilors along with Ponda Health officials on Friday (May 27).
