Geno FC Dominate Bidesh XI with 3-0 Victory in Goa Professional League

MAPUSA: Geno FC proved to be too good for new entrants Bidesh XI as they registered a 3-0 win in the Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Tuesday.
At the start, both the teams did play earnestly but it was Geno FC who surged ahead a minute before the half time break.
A 25-yard stiff grounder by Gourav Kankonkar saw Bidesh XI Goalkeeper Roanal Gaunkar fumble in his collection and the ball hit the goal post and entered the goal 1-0.
On crossing ends, nothing much transcribed in the first 20 minutes of play though both the coaches came with two substitutions each.
In the 72nd minute, Geno FC were awarded a penalty after Bidesh XI defender Rahul Chawan handled the ball from substitute Lloyd Cardozo strike.
Llyod stepped forward and scored 2-0. Geno FC continued on their domination and netted their third goal. Sankalp Kankonkar dribbled past a host of rival defenders and placed the ball on the platter to Lloyd Cardozo whose shot brushed Bidesh XI custodian gloves and entered the goal 3-0.
At Nagao Panchayat ground, Goa Police downed Cortalim Villagers SWSC 3-0. Mayuresh Naik, Kunal Salgaokar and substitute Shashank Ashwekar scored a goal each for Goa Police.
At Dempo Academy ground, Ella-Old Goa, Dempo SC defeated Churchill Brothers 2-1. Mevan Dias and Jordon Borges scored a goal each for Dempo SC, while Moirangthem Berlin reduced the margin for Churchill Brothers.
