A woman lost her life and her husband sustained serious injuries after their car crashed into a tree on the Anmod–Hemmadga road near Pali while attempting to avoid an oncoming heavy vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Jagruti Haridas, a resident of Old Goa. Her husband, Dattaprasad Haridas, who was driving the vehicle, suffered severe injuries and has been admitted to hospital for treatment.

According to police, the couple was returning to Goa after attending a wedding when the accident occurred. Preliminary information suggests that the driver swerved to avoid a heavy vehicle coming from the opposite direction, causing the car to veer off the road and hit a tree.
Jagruti Haridas was declared dead at the scene, while her husband was rushed to hospital by emergency services. Police have registered a case and are further investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
