Anjana Arjun Kamat, councillor representing Ward No. 12 (Virdi-Sanquelim), officially assumed office as the Chairperson of the Sanquelim Municipal Council on Tuesday, filling the post that had remained vacant.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant had announced Kamat’s appointment following a meeting with all the municipal councillors. The formal charge-taking ceremony was subsequently held at the Sanquelim Municipal Council office.

Speaking after assuming office, Chairperson Anjana Kamat thanked Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and former Chairperson Siddhi Parab for their support and confidence in her.
She said she would work to meet the expectations of the people and focus on the overall development of Sanquelim, while ensuring that civic issues are addressed efficiently during her tenure.
