80% of South Goa District Court Building Completed, HC Seeks Timeline for Full Readiness

The Goa government has informed the High Court that nearly 80 per cent of the construction work on the new South Goa District Court complex has been completed, while the process of acquiring additional land for a dedicated parking facility is currently underway.

During the hearing, the government submitted that the proposed land acquisition pertains to an area at the rear of the court complex, which will be developed to address parking requirements.

Taking note of the progress, the High Court adjourned the matter to August 19 and directed the Under Secretary (Law) to file a detailed bar chart indicating the status of completed and pending works. The court also sought a clear timeline specifying when the entire court complex would be fully completed and ready for use.

The directions were issued to enable the court to monitor the progress of the long-awaited judicial infrastructure project and ensure its timely completion.
