Dempo SC dominated the proceedings and came close to scoring in the eight minute through skipper Kapil Hoble, who received the ball from Ashley Rodrigues and moved dangerously inside the rival territory.
However, Kapil’s powerful effort was fisted away for an abortive flag-kick by Churchill Bros SC custodian Gurudev Singh.
They carried on the momentum and surged ahead in the 28th minute through Shankar Gaunder’s powerful grounder off an assist by Vineet Budge.
Dempo SC continued their domination and doubled their advantage in the 36th minute through Vineet off an assist by Kapil.
Thereafter, Dempo SC conceded after a defensive lapse in the 45th minute which allowed Ramondeep Kumar to score.
Crossing over, they provided end-to-end action but it was Dempo SC who scored their third goal through Kapil off an assist by Shankar in the 56th minute.
Two minutes later, Churchill Bros SC’s Sagar Limbo’s shot was blocked by the rival custodian.
