How Goa is lighting up this Diwali

The festival that marks the victory of good over evil,

Diwali, is celebrated with light, signifying the eradication of darkness, real and metaphorical. In Goa, people from different religions also follow the tradition of lighting lamps and giving gifts.

They also show great enthusiasm in helping create the effigy of Narkasur, an act that beautifully showcases the magnificence of the creative ideas of fellow Goans. The lighting of diyas and its brightness is shared by all communities. The houses in the vicinity come alive with the lights, spreading cheer.
