While it takes years for deejays to get established in the music circuit
and then bring out their singles on national television, Noizboy had his first
single ‘Banger’ featured on VH1 Exclusive, a leading English music channel.
Sajjed Pirani who prefers to go by his stage name, DJ Noizboy, started
producing music in 2016 and had a couple of original tracks in hand. “Music
played a very important part in my life. I was always passionate about music
and whenever I would visit a club, I would always get fascinated to see how a
deejay would control the emotions of the crowd, and that feeling helped me
choose this profession,” says the 27 year old from Margao.
The video is being aired on the channel on a regular basis, and features
various dancers from Goa and overseas dancing freestyle, hip hop and locking
and popping, to the beats of the song. But it was not an easy task
getting Noizboy’s name up there. “It was very difficult in the beginning, as I
didn’t have all the gear that I needed to produce top quality music. I produced
a lot of tracks but they never met my expectations. Once I had the equipment I
needed, I produced ‘Banger’, which got its world release from by the
international label ‘Wolfrage Recordings’. I sent them around three songs
and they loved ‘Banger’. The song was released by the label on Spotify and
iTunes, which are the biggest engines in music. The songs has had nearly 20,000
downloads since then,” says the artiste enthusiastically.
“I sent the first video to VH1 and they were not too happy with the
quality of the video. They asked me to redo the entire video and since the song
is an EDM number, I put out a message on Facebook for dancers to audition to be
featured in the video. I got massive response, and many dancers auditioned
online too. Besides that we had auditions in Margao, Vasco and Calangute and
the selected dancers are given different pieces in the video,” adds Noizboy.
‘Banger’ was released on VH1 and it was featured on VH1 Mint and VH1
Soundnation but as it gained popularity, it was featured on VH1 Exclusive. The
song was featured along with songs by many international artistes. “It is a
great feeling to see my song doing well and I’m getting a lot of appreciation
from my family, friends and followers. It was difficult to create a top level
track with less technical gear as well as poor studio facilities,” he says.
Noizboy has performed at Sinq in Goa and as it is Ramzan, he is currently
taking a break. By July, he will be performing in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore,
Chennai, Indore and at a launch party at Imagica in Pune. He is currently
working on his debut album, ‘End of Light’. “My new album will have six tracks
including ‘Banger’ and two new projects in which I’ll be collaborating with
Indian artiste, Tiala Rego and an artiste from London (most probably). The
second single, ‘Bullet of Fire’ is a lyrical track with Tiala and it is a love
song. The third song, ‘Feel Anymore’, is being worked on by the label too, as
they try to see which voice suits the song best, before it is recorded
accordingly. It is important to have collaboration with internationally known
artistes as the song gains more popularity on the overall market,” says Noizboy.
Speaking about the music and artists he follows, Noizboy is excited
about how new artists are emerging from different parts of the world and
gaining popularity instantly. “I personally like Hardwell and KSHMR as they are
young, and still creating some amazing music. It is always surprising to see
young deejays who become world stage artists. There is a lot to learn about
their songs, and their stories, about how they entered and captured the market
overnight; like Martin Garrix who became a hit with his singles including
‘Animals’,” says Noizboy, who is hoping to follow the same success soon.
