PONDA: Locals from Kurti-Borim have raised serious concerns over garbage being dumped along the roadside.
Speaking to Herald, they fear that the Borim highway stretch will turn into another Sonsoddo. They demand immediate clearance of this garbage that is dumped along the roadside.
A local resident said, “One can see garbage dumped by the roadside along the Curti-Borim bypass. People are involved in dumping their household garbage at the spot. This site has turned into a waste dumping ground which could turn out to be another Sonsoddo.”
“The authorities have failed to solve the Sonsoddo issue in the Margao jurisdiction and on the other hand here at this spot too garbage dumping has been going on unabated. I requested the government and the concerned authorities to monitor the situation here clear the garbage, come out with a solution and take action against those found dumping garbage at this spot,” he demanded.
