CM appeals to retired teachers to take up career guidance programme for youth

Asks to help the aspirants to prepare for Civil Services examinations as a step toward to build nation to form Navbharat and make Goa Swayampurna

PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant appealed to retired teachers to take an initiative to conduct the career guidance programme to guide the youth of their respective Village Panchayat. He also appealed them to help the aspirants to prepare for Civil Services examinations as a step toward to build nation to form Navbharat and make Goa Swayampurna. 

He was addressing the gathering at the felicitation program of superannuated University teachers were organised by the University and college teachers' association, Goa (UCTAG) on Sunday. 

“As a mark of showing gratitude and respect to the teachers who had thought me, I have make sure that I take their by either giving them a call or meeting personally at the occasion of teacher’s Day and Guru-pournima,” added CM.

Speaking about virtual learning channel ‘Dishtavo’ that was started during the pandemic time, Sawant thanked the teachers for taking an effort to guide the students at the pandemic times. He said, “Teachers are the one because of whom children’s and youths are moulded in a shape that help them become a better citizen of Nation.” 

Director General of Police (DGP), Jaspal Singh and E. Agnelo Da Silva, former Director of Ravindra Bhavan Sanquelim were respectively called upon as the Guest of honour and special invitee for the function. 

The felicitation program which was organised to congratulate and acknowledge the sacrifice, devotion and efforts of superannuated teachers Agnelo Dias, Lina Talwadkar, Pravin Bhende, Ramlal Vernekar, Dinker Dessai, Sandhya Bhandare Sequeira, Basavraj Ingalhalli, Jagmohan Singh, A.V. Deshpande, Sheila Pereira, Budhaji Kolekar were felicitated at the felicitation program. 

Professor Anthony Rodrigues, President of UCTAG, Roy Gomes, General Secretary of UCTAG, Padmaja Kamat, Kunal Borker, Vice-Secretary of UTAG, Vice-President of UCTAG, Anthony D'sousa, Treasurer of UCTAG were present at the function.
