Are parking rules only for public?

Traffic cops are often found issuing challans to travelers disobeying traffic rules such as non-wearing of helmet, over-speeding, overtaking on bridges and the like.

Traffic cops are often found issuing challans to travelers disobeying traffic rules such as non-wearing of helmet, over-speeding, overtaking on bridges and the like. Fines are also levied on persons parking their vehicles in ‘No Parking’ areas. However, one wonders whether such rules are restricted only to the general public. What about vehicles of the government departments parked in no parking areas?

Seen in the picture is a vehicle engaged by the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) in collection of garbage at the jurisdiction in Ponda. This vehicle is parked adjacent to ‘No Parking’ signboard near Municipal Garden, Ponda. (Photo clicked on Friday June 23 at 8:00 am).

It is time for the traffic cell department in Ponda to take a note of this important matter and instruct the Ponda Municipal council accordingly.

No doubt, rules framed by any government authority must be applicable to one and all without any discrimination.
