The ATM services in Goa need to improve. May such outlets open with much fanfare and soon are found neglected and without the basic facilities. Many do not have the security guards present, the air-conditioners are faulty and do not work at many places, besides banks seldom replace the paper for print details after each transaction.

I have heard stories of soiled notes being dispensed earlier, but was surprised when I found myself at the receiving end.

Recently the ATM dispensed a soiled Rs 2,000 note at ICICI Bank’s ATM kiosk located at Lake View Plaza, Fatorda, near the stadium. 

When the banks tom-tom about very good personal services to their customers, they should ensure that they maintain the quality of their service. 

It is highly unethical for the banks to indulge in such malpractices putting the public to inconvenience for no fault of theirs, as no shop or other business establishment will accept such notes. 

I request banks or service providers to thoroughly  check the notes before they are put in the ATMs, so that customers are not inconvenienced.
