Beware of stray cattle on the roads

Citizen CONNIE D’SOUZA Chandor

Welcome to Goa! But we request tourist to be careful when you come to Goa and enjoy the ride on two-wheelers and other vehicles, because there are so many stray cattle on the roads in villagers and national highways throughout Goa. Especially during the night the stray cattle stand and sit on the road and due to darkness of several stretches cannot be seen properly.

Please do drive slowly and be safe because our State government and Tourism  Department calls people from different countries, but provides no safety to them. There is no value and safety for human life in India, but cows and buffalos have become more important than us.

The owners of these stray cattle are not taking any responsibility to take them home and surprisingly some stray cattle do not even have any owner.

Of course, the owners know that nobody can touch them because the present government is in the favour of cattle.

As the Christmas season is near I think we have to take them to make live Christmas ‘ghotto’.

If the government cares so much about cows than why the government is not giving them a shed and food. Why are they left on the roadside to eat garbage bags and other toxic waste which is dangerous to their health.

We request our government and tourism minister and CM to look into this matter and save the life of people who are suffering from accident and injuries due to stray cattle on village and national highways throughout Goa.

Please take this matter seriously. Also request Goans and others to drive slowly and be safe, because your safety is ultimately in your own hands.
