For many years, the development at Chinchinim has been at a standstill due to various claims and counterclaims mainly by the elected panchayat members. 

There are two plots that have been acquired by the Government for development purpose. 

One is situated next to the cemetery on the Dandeavaddo road and the other is next to CRC football ground on the Chinchinim-Assolna road.

In my personal opinion, the Panchayat Ghar could be constructed on the Dandeavaddo road plot and I would gladly opt for a market complex on the Chinchinim-Assolna road for the simple reason the latter could provide ample space for parking of vehicles and in addition it could easily attract customers not only from Chinchinim but from adjoining villages like Assolna, Velim, Cavelossim and Carmona.

The last two villages have now easy access to Chinchinim after the construction of the Assolna- Cavelossim bridge over the river Sal.
