Clear the parking areas in Ponda

Citizen Pravin Sardessai, Adpai

With the ever increasing number of vehicles on Goan roads, parking has become a serious problem at different locations in the state of Goa. No doubt, the concerned authorities have demarcated necessary space for parking of two-wheelers and cars at some locations. However, at times we notice vendors selling different items as also stray cattle occupying the spots.

Seen in the picture is the area marked for parking of cars opposite Bank of India in Ponda. Stray cattle occupy the spot on most occasions and hence motorists desirous of parking their vehicle here remain at a great disadvantage. Due to presence of cattle, some persons even halt/park their cars on the existing narrow road thereby disturbing free movement of vehicular traffic along this busy route. It is time for the concerned authorities to levy a sympathetic attitude towards this important issue and initiate prompt favourable action in clearing the spots identified for parking purpose.

Let us hope that necessary favourable action would follow in this important matter in public interest.
