One would like to believe that all the gutters and storm drains in Vasco city have been cleaned by the authorities concerned as a part of the pre-monsoon work. But as seen in the photograph, it does not seem to be the case.

An overflowing gutter near the fruit market in the Port Town is causing a lot of inconvenience to the general public. Located near the old Cine Vasco building, the gutter is full of slush and mud which does not allow the rain water to flow smoothly. The mud even gets deposited on the road leading to slippery conditions which could prove dangerous for two-wheeler riders.

A group of retired senior citizens happen to meet at a nearby spot and have complained of the mud and slush which could be a health hazard as it is a fertile breeding spot for mosquitoes and has also become a sore sight. 

The authorities need to clear the gutter so that the rain water moves through it and does not get accumulated.
