In Ponda, the notion of achieving ‘Nital Goem’ has remained only on papers as we notice heaps of scattered garbage at different strategic spots. As a result, travellers and pedestrians tend to be the ultimate sufferers in the process.

The situation turns unhygienic to citizens’ precious lives. Seen in the picture is garbage scattered over a large area along the main road in the vicinity of KTC bus stand. Such a state of affairs has become a regular phenomenon.

As on September 07, situation in this regard was found to be unchanged. The much needed dustbins are found missing from the scene.  It is the need of the hour for the concerned authorities to provide dustbins at this particular spot so that the undesirable practice of dumping garbage in open area gets discouraged at the earliest. 

Unless the authorities view this matter seriously, it would be extremely difficult to achieve hygienic conditions at strategic spots like the one mentioned above. 

Let us hope that prompt favourable action would be initiated in this important matter in public interest.
