Mapusa Municipal Market is dangerous to the busy shoppers, specially on Friday and Saturday, who come to do their weekly purchases. 

The threat to life of the people comes in the form of the two-wheelers moving around in the crowd posing danger those walking with their bags. Many get hurt, if not severely. This happens at times to tourists, including foreigners, who are not aware of the two-wheelers who are allowed inside the market area. The authorities in power seem to bypass the unwanted movement of the two-wheelers who should be kept out of the busy marketing area. One irritated marketer burst out in disgust recently and said: “With a funky government in power, the municipal administration too have become funkier.”
