PANJIM: Putting to rest speculation about the status of Class X and XII Board exams in view of the rising number of COVID cases in the State, the Chairman of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHE) has categorically stated that the exams will be held as per schedule.
“The Class X and XII Board exams are not postponed and are going to be held as scheduled. There will be no further change,” GBSHE chairman Bhagirath Shetye said.
He added that staff members have been properly trained to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams. He emphasised that they will see to it that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be strictly followed. He gave the example of how thermal scanning and sanitizers will be there at all the centres.
“As per the guidelines, only 12 students will be allowed in a single class. We have increased the number of sub centres as well,” he added.
He also explained that GBSHE has made adequate arrangements for students to answer the exams in the event they test positive for COVID-19.
“We have made sure isolated exam centres will be made available for those students who test positive. Necessary stationery will be provided at these centres,” the Chairman added.
