VASCO: Internal bickering and confusion has grounded the annual workshop for children, women and senior citizens organised by Ravindra Bhavan, Baina.

The workshop was supposed to start from April 20. However, the same is yet to start, leaving participants disappointed.

Ravindra Bhavan had planned to hold second edition of summer workshop from April 20 to May 20. During the month-long workshops, several programmes were planned for people of various age groups giving them an opportunity to learn various art forms free of costs. However, the participants were shocked to note that the workshops in which they were planning to take part leaving aside their holiday plans was suddenly disrupted.

“It is shocking that after giving wide publicity of the workshops, the Ravindra Bhawan officials now say that they are unable to hold the workshops due to some internal confusion over appointment of new committee. We don’t understand as to what made them to first announce the workshops and now giving excuse about interval bickering,” said Sandeep Patel, a Vasco resident.

Meanwhile, when Herald asked Ravindra Bhawan Chairman Shekhar Khadapkar as to what made them to keep summer festival on hold, he said, “I am also confused about this mess. I had actually started these workshops and had planned for this year summer workshops with the intention to provide opportunity to the people of Mormugao taluka though this facility available. But now there is some internal confusion over appointment of new committee, due to which the workshops is held up. I am worried because people are suffering and thus government should take some steps to resolve the issue. Government till now has supported us and we feel that they will support us even in future.”
