Decision on opening schools after October 2

PANJIM: Schools in Goa will not open for classes at least until October 2 in view of worsening COVID-19 situation in the State. On a daily basis approximately 600 new cases are being added to the COVID-19 tally. However, online classes that are currently on will continue across all levels.

The government that had been considering resuming classes for higher standard on a voluntary basis after September 21, will now assess the situation post October 2 and in consultation with stakeholders, open classes for Std X and XII, following strict health protocols. Students of Classes X and XII will answer the board exams next year.

The government, however, will allow students, especially those who are facing problems with online classes, to visit schools on a voluntary basis and interact with the teachers to get their difficulties solved as per the guidelines mentioned in Unlock4.
