PANJIM: Goa witnessed yet another tragic death of a 29-year-old man from Altinho, Panjim, who succumbed to COVID-19 on Tuesday morning. The health bulletin, issued by the Health Department said that the youth had co-morbid conditions.

It was another tragic day, as along with four deaths, 259 new COVID-19 cases were registered. There were also 238 recoveries.

The active cases in the State now stand at 1901, while confirmed cases have touched 7075 and recoveries are at 5114. The deaths are now at 60.

As per the DHS bulletin, the 29-year-old from Altinho, Panjim had co-morbid conditions, while the other deceased were a 79-year-old woman from Vaddem, a 54-year-old man from Calconda-Margao  and an 80-year-old man from Gogol, Margao, all admitted to the COVID ESI hospital with co-morbid conditions.

On Tuesday 2866 samples were tested, out of which 2037 were negative and 259 positive. The pending cases have now reduced to 570.

Meanwhile, Panjim Mayor Uday Madkaikar said there were 10 more new cases reported from the city on Tuesday. He said that three new cases were reported from Mala, two from Caranzalem, three in Altinho and one each from Patto-Ribandar and Miramar.
