PONDA: Stating the Goa Mining People Front (GMPF) is a non-political outfit, All Goa Machine Owners President and GMPF Core Committee Member Sandeep Parab said that Puti Gaonkar’s announcement to contest 2022 Assembly elections from Sanquelim Constituency against Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant is totally his individual decision.
“GMPF is a non-political outfit, and was formed with aim to restart mining in Goa and it has nothing do with politics,” Parab said. He further said, “The GMPF will not contest Assembly elections or make pre-poll alliance with any political outfit. The association is not contesting elections.”
He urged the government to withdraw cases filed by the government against GMPF members for staging agitation in 2018.
