VASCO: The keel laying ceremony for construction and supply of two Pollution Control Vessels for the Indian Coast Guard will be held on Monday, November 21 in presence of Director General VS Pathania, PTM, TM Director General Indian Coast Guard at the Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), Vasco. 

GSL Chairman and Managing Director B K Upadhyay, IG Dr Sharma PTM, TM DDG (M and M), Indian Coast Guard, Capt Jagmohan, Director (CPP and BD), Sunil Bagi, Director (Finance) and other senior officials will participate in the ceremony.

The primary role of the Pollution Control Vessel is to carry out dedicated oil spill response operations in the vast EEZ of our country and also around the various neighbouring Islands. 

The GSL will commence a new product line related to vessels designed for the exclusive role of pollution control and response. Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) signed a contract with Ministry of Defence.
