PANJIM: The State government has issued letters of intent to three -- VM Salgaocar Corporation Pvt Ltd, Salgaocar Centre-Goa, MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions-Pune and Global Foundation for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship-Jaipur, to set up private university campus in the State.
The Universities, proposes to offer Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in fields namely Marine, Journalism, Graphic, Video Gaming, Medical Science, Law, etc from the next academic year 2022-23 onwards.
The information was provided by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant during the recently concluded Monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly. Sources revealed that the Universities will start Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes from coming academic year only.
Sawant said that the government on February 24, this year, issued letters of intent for establishing private Universities under the Goa Private Universities Act, 2020.
As per the information, VM Salgaocar will offer four years Bachelor of Design degree in (B Des) Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, Heritage Conservation and Restoration Design, Film and Video Game Design.
A two-year and six months Masters will be offered in Graphic and Industrial design.
Apart from this, it proposes to offer Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) – 4 years, Master Fine Arts (MFA) – 2 years and three years each of BA (Mass Media and Communication), BSc in Data Science and BSc in Animation.
The Pune based MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions proposed to offer Undergraduate and Postgraduate level courses in Engineering Sciences, Design, Marine Engineering, Medical Sciences, Management Sciences, Pharmacy, Liberal Arts, Law, Journalism, Governance, Public Policy and in the field of fundamental sciences and allied research.
Global Foundation for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (GFFSDE), Jaipur has proposed to offer Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate BVoc, MVoc, and Research/Doctoral Program in various skill education like Manufacturing and Automotive, Construction, Infrastructure and Building Services, Electrical, Electronics, IT, Computers, Telecom, Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Traditional, Healthcare, Wellness, Domestic Work, Home Care and Beauty Care, Transport and Logistics, Education Media and Entertainment, Education Agriculture, Fisheries, Dairy Farming, Poultry and Security, Tourism and Hospitality.
