Honda: While the government has been pushing to digitalise its operations for years, the Honda panchayat talathi’s office has been patiently waiting to get its computer system repaired for the past eight months.  Locals now have to approach private agencies to get their work done by paying from them pockets,

The government had installed the computer system here a few years ago office in order to push for online administration. The move proved to be beneficial as the locals could obtain various certificates at free of cost and also save on time. However, the system broke down eight months ago which has neither been repaired or replaced with the new one.

This has affected the locals majorly as now they have to pay extra charges to the private agencies to get their paperwork done. The talathis too have to go to Valpoi mamlatdar’s office once in a week for official work.

When contacted, the Honda panachayat's talathi office informed that the system has been non-functioning since the conclusion of panchayat elections and the report has been sent to the senior officials. However, no initiative has been taken so far. The locals have appealed to the Poriem MLA Dr Deviya Rane to look into the matter and arrange a computer system to reduce the inconvenience faced by the villagers.
