PANJIM: Civil society members have criticised the unexplained delay by the INDIA Bloc and Opposition parties, especially the Congress, in announcing its South Goa candidate for upcoming Lok Sabha elections and said that it will fight the elections with its full strength. If Congress has to fight the BJP, then it should bring all its people together. But till today there is no sign of its candidate.''

The members have also demanded that all the political parties have to reveal the donation that they have received from patron company of the BJP candidate of South Goa.

Social activist Dipesh said, ''We are going to fight on the field."

Speaking to reporters in Margao, social activist Rama Kankonkar questioned the delay made by the Opposition parties in announcing the name of the candidates.

"If weak candidates are fielded, then members of Bahujan Samaj will come forward and fight the elections. We are not fighting it for the money nor we want donations. We, the civil society, do not want money. We just want a candidate who will raise questions on the behalf of the people of Goa,'' Kankonkar said.

''Why are they doing time pass? Only 20 days are left for the elections. When will the candidates reach their constituencies. Workers of the BJP and their volunteers are already in the field. These two seats are important for protection of existence of Goa. There are so many people who have worked in different fields but the opposition parties are saying that there are no candidates. They should be ashamed of it.

Even the seventh list released by the Congress party on Wednesday did not have the name of candidates for both the seats in Goa. On the other side, BJP has already announced Shripad Naik as its North Goa candidate and Pallavi Dempo as its candidate from South Goa Lok Sabha constituency.
