MARGAO: Congress leader Elvis Gomes on Tuesday once again expressed his ire over the government for not taking land grabbing issue seriously. He claims the frauds continue, despite alerting the chief minister.
He also alleged that Deputy Chief Minister and TCP Minister Babu Kavlekar and several government officials are involved in the land grabbing frauds.
"TCP Minister Babu Kavlekar is also involved in the fraud of Balli Communidade land, wherein a file of 10,000 square meter of land of the communidade has been moved for conversion in the name of the Minister's son," said Gomes.
To substantiate his claim he said, a few days back the Balli Communidade had published a notice stating lakhs of square meters of their land had been grabbed by some other persons.
"The file pertaining to the Balli communidade has also reached TCP for conversion with the name Kavlekar," said Gomes.
Gomes also took strong objection on Block Committee selecting Yuri Alemao as the only aspirant for the party ticket from constituency.
