PANJIM: The Old Goa Police are on a look out for two unidentified bike-borne men, accused of chain snatching. 

As per a complaint lodged by the victim's wife Vijaylaxmi Gupta, when her husband opened the grocery shop at Corlim for the day's business early Wednesday morning, a man approached him on pretext of buying some items. "The victim was engrossed in replying to the accused's inquiries, which is when the latter snatched the chain from the former's neck and fled. Another man who was waiting at a closer distance on a motorbike picked his accomplice and both escaped from the spot," a police official said quoting the complaint. 

The police said that as per the complaint, the gold chain is worth Rs 3.5 lakh.

"We are trying to reach out to witnesses to get a lead in the case. At the same time, we are also looking for CCTV cameras if any around the crime site," said a police official. 

More details were awaited as investigation team were in the process of registering FIR.
