Permanent solution needed for traffic jam from Agassaim to Cortalim: Lobo

Team Herald

PANJIM: After being stuck in a heavy traffic jam for almost 45 minutes at Agassaim-Cortalim stretch on Saturday, opposition leader Michael Lobo has asked the government to reduce the frequent traffic congestion on this stretch.

He also said that the traffic police should come up with a permanent solution of putting barricades for smooth flow of traffic.

According to Lobo the frequent traffic congestion is as a result of very few traffic police persons being deputed on this stretch. “The traffic congestion in this area is resulting in chaos as many of the commuters tend to miss their flights. If they have halted the construction work of bridge for this period time, then why is the traffic congestion still haunting the commuters? Why isn’t the government taking necessary steps to find the permanent solution?” said Lobo.

A taxi driver, A. Paklo, who was stuck in the traffic jam for hours on Saturday, said the congestion was due to the breakdown of a tourist bus on the Zuari Bridge.

which resulted in the traffic jam.
