Sea of supporters join hands with protesters to Save Old Goa

OldGoa: A sea of supporters have joined hands with the citizens who have been on a chain hunger strike for the last ten days and been protesting against the construction project right from the time the entire saga related to this construction project began. Supporters who have joined them are all from parts of Goa and had come to old Goa for the feast day masses. 

Meanwhile most of the political leaders, MLAs and Ministers were spotted sitting on the fisrt row fo the feast high mass. After the mass, when Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant was questioned  about the ongoing protest and what action the Government has taken. 

Speaking to media, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that all decision and action has been taken against the illegal structure, my Govt and TCP has take the necessary decision and action, if more action it will be taken in future. He also said that activist and others shouldn’t politicize this issue. 

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Luizinho Falerio also met the hungry striking protestors outside the Basilica on Friday afternoon, promising to raise it at the national level until the matter is resolved. 

The strength of the protest got stronger today as different people from different parts of the state and world showed their support to the striking people who are demanding the safety of the heritage site and also demolition of the illegal structure.  Social activist Xencor Polgi said that today Goans have to fight for their safety and rights as the elected representatives have   failed to protect Goa. Today we have come on roads, come outside churches to fight against the illegalities. 

While on the other hand, AAP Leader Amit Palekar who is on his indefinite hunger strike demanding a through probe and investigation into this case. He highlighted who all and which department member is involved to grant fraudulent and illegal permission to this structure at oldGoa. 

Save oldGoa action committee member, Glen Cabral added that their striking members and action committee members will make a major announcement on Saturday about their plan B against the illegal structure.
