Shigmo parade held at Calangute

Shree Mahalaxmi Nagrik Samiti, Bandora, wins first prize in Chitrahat, while Hindvi Swaraj Shivam gets the top prize in Romtamel

CALANGUTE: The Calangute Shigmo parade on Wednesday went on late into the night and featured various Chitrahat, Romtamel and other groups besides rangoli and fancy dress contests. The first prize in Chitrahat was won by Shree Mahalaxmi Nagrik Samiti, Bandora, while Hindvi Swaraj Shivam won the top prize in Romtamel. Held for the second time, the Calangute Shigmo parade was expected to be bigger this year. However, it received a lukewarm response from locals as well as tourists.
