VASCO: A special meeting to discuss the integration of new system and technology compatibility and solutions proposed in the upcoming terminal extension at the Dabolim Airport was held on Thursday.
"Discussions held along with AAI Engineering Team/CNS, PMC & agency on the different aspects of integration of new system proposed for terminal extension viz a viz existing systems for FIDS, IT, PA SYSTEM & CCTV. Expeditious submission of proposal emphasized'', Goa Airport tweeted.
Dabolim Airport Director Gagan Malik informed that the prime focus of the meeting was integration of the existing and the older technology with the new system and technology in the upcoming terminal extension. There was also discussion on the technology compatibility whether it would support the existing one or a complete new technology/system will have to be put in place by dropping the older one.
He mentioned that when the extension of the building would come up the new system would have to be installed which would function on new technology. Therefore, with new technology and systems coming in the new building, the discussion was whether these new systems will work in sync with the existing or older technology and system. What will be needed to make both systems and technology compatible with one another and what changes will be needed, all these things were discussed during this meeting with the AAI engineering team.
The director said once the new extension comes up only then these things will be executed, at present all these things are in the planning phase.
