PERNEM:  With the people complaining about the hardship at the border, the State government officials along with Maharashtra counterparts held a meeting at Patradevi checkpost to solve the problem of queuing of vehicles on both the sides.

People had to wait in queues on both the sides of checkpost for long hours in order to complete the process of valid travel documents. During the meeting, North Goa Collector R Menaka, Superintendent of Police North Utkrisht Prasoon, Deputy Superintendent of Police GajananPrabhudesai, Pernem Police Station Police Inspector Sandesh Chodankar along with District Collector Sawantwadi and Maharashtra Police came up with a solution that the vehicle exiting from Goa will be thoroughly checked by the Maharashtra Police and the vehicle exiting from Maharashtra will be checked by Goa Police which will make the process less time consumable and avoid long queues of the vehicles on both sides of the check post.

Initially, all the vehicles entering and exiting from Goa and Maharashtra used to get checked by the officials of both Goa and Maharashtra and in the process, it use to take at least 10 minutes each for both sides, which lead to the queues of vehicles.
