State facing serious crimes, why fuss over ‘porn’ clip, ask netizens

As opposition plays politics, many on social media have a different take on the ‘hacked’ phone issue of Deputy Chief Minister

PANJIM: Even as a controversy rages over the porn clip sent from the ‘hacked’ phone of Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, netizens feel that while the issue may be serious, there are many other crimes that the Goa Police need to look into.

Social media is flooded with posts and reactions on the Kavlekar issue, wherein he filed a police complaint that his phone was hacked in the middle of the night and a porn clip was sent on a WhatsApp group.

While the opposition Congress, AAP and Goa Forward Party have issued strong reactions on the controversy, netizens feel that though it is undoing of the Deputy Chief Minister, there are many other issues that need to be tackled.

Gautam Bhagat said, “Babu is gentleman person. And it’s beyond politics.” 

Another person Orville N (facebook) posted, “Why make such a fuss about it now and target one person?”

Vasant K Naik said that the government has many more issues to tackle at the moment. “People are being burnt alive, rapes, drugs, prostitution, businessman murdered and the people are worried about such things. Get well soon bros… we have many other issues to tackle,” he said.

Interestingly, another netizen clubs all politicians into the prostitution and drug nexus. “Nobody denies these politicians’ nexus in prostitution and drugs… all politicians have such habits. Frankly saying it was an error from the minister which has cost him dearly,” a netizen posted.
