VASCO: Verna Police busted a prostitution racket and arrested three non-Goans pimps, in connection with it.
The police rescued one victim girl, native of West Bengal, and have been sent to the State protective home, at Merces.
Police Inspector Mohan Gaude and his team on Thursday evening between 6.42 pm and 11 pm conducted a raid in a flat at first floor, Fremioph Building, behind Maharaja Hotel, Verna upon a reliable information and rescued a victim girl, who is a native of West Bengal.
The police arrested three pimps namely Deepak Kumar (25), Anil Kumar (42) both native of Uttar Pradesh and Dinesh Kamu Sakat (41) native of Maharashtra, on Friday.
Further, the victim girl has been sent to the State Protective Home at Merces, after conducting a medical examination.
Verna Police has registered a case under Section 370, 370-A (2) IPC and Section 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act 1956.
The raiding party consisted of Police Inspector Mohan Gaude, PSI Kiran Naik, Riyanka Naik, Head Constable A N T Fernandes, Praveen Dessai, Santosh Naik, Vasant Velip, Johnny Silveira, Umesh Naik and others.
