FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Congress swore to abide by the people’s will to send the dictatorial Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) home. Addressing the media, Fatorda Block Congress Working President Yogesh Nagvekar said, “The most important and credible factor of these elections is Team Goa. The BJP has only dabbled in scams, especially the job scam, which affects the youth. The massive price rise and collapse of the market is due to their wrong policies. The BJP has to be sent home. Many parties have imported themselves into Goa from Delhi, Kolkata, etc, but they are here only to split votes. Only Team Goa, of the Congress & GFP, can deliver Goa from the clutches of the anti-people BJP and govern Goa in the way Goans want.”
Block President Chidambar Chanekar and Vice-President Niaz Ahmed were also present on the occasion. Chanekar appealed to all Fatordekars to not fall prey to freebies and false promises and back Vijai Sardesai. Ahmed stressed that it was the duty of every true Congressman and Congresswoman to support Sardesai in Fatorda and elect him by a huge margin.”
GFP President Vijai Sardesai thanked the Fatorda Block Congress Committee for their adherence to alliance ‘dharma’ and for their support to Team Goa.
“I promise them and all the people of Goa that I will see to it that a Congress-led government will be in power over the next 5 years. People should compare the new Congress, which has fielded 75% new faces in these elections against the BJP, nearly 50% of whose candidates are defectors or from defector families. That is why I am sure that, with this Congress, whose entire garbage has shifted to the BJP, the GFP will stay together for 5 years and give Goa a government that will listen to and work for the people of Goa. I will not only work to get my candidates elected, but also visit constituencies of Congress candidates to work for their victory. This pre-poll alliance is a manifestation of my vision of Team Goa and we have made sacrifices for it. Today I visited Ponda, where GFP had a strong candidate in Dada Naik. But Dada & I have jointly announced our support for the Congress candidate Rajesh Verekar. Both the Congress & GFP are following the alliance ‘dharma’ and will adhere to post-poll expectations. We will be together for all of the next 5 years. This pre-poll alliance was what I was seeking 5 years ago, but, as Digvijay Singh tweeted some time back, the opportunist Luizinho Faleiro sabotaged all chances of preventing the BJP from coming to power. The same Luizinho has now ditched the Congress and sold himself to a Kolkata party. But this time, it is different. We, the Congress & GFP are together for Goa, and we will win and form a people-friendly government to save Goa for future generations,” said Sardesai.
