Activists have demanded that the Tiger Reserve be notified in Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary, as part of the Save Mhadei Save Goa campaign. If this is done the diversion of Mhadei water will not be possible by Karnataka.
When questioned about those living on the edge of the forests they said that local MLAs were playing politics and that the people need to be rehabilitated after the declaration of the Wildlife sanctuary for the greater good of Goa.
