Ram Navami was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion on Wednesday at Ram temple across the state.  Devotees thronged the temples to celebrate the birth of lord Ram. Worshipper offered prayers and sought blessings from the Lord.

Ram Navami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Ram, one of the most popularly revered deities in Hinduism, also known as the seventh avatar of Vishnu. He is often held as an emblem within Hinduism for being an ideal king and human through his righteousness, good conduct and virtue.

Extending Ram Navami's wishes, one devotee from Bhatlem said, “Today in the entire world Ram Navami is being celebrated with great pomp and joy. Similarly, we have come here at Bhatlem Ram Mandir which has the significance of being here for more than 150 years. Every year we come here to celebrate Ram Navami and I feel honoured to do the cradle ceremony of Lord Ram.”

Places like Bhatlem, Pernem, and other places in Goa celebrated in full swing and joy. Temples witnessed maha pooja followed by the Palki procession of lord Ram and the performance of devotional songs.

Vasco locals gathered in large numbers at the Ram Mandir, Mestawada to extend Ram Navami greetings. On this day, Mormugao Municipal Council members and the local MLA also paid a visit to the temple. MMC Councillor Girish Borkar said, “On this auspicious occasion, I extend a heart full greetings to everyone as we celebrate the birth of the dear Lord Ram. This time the celebration is huge and grand. The maha pooja is being celebrated at Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya and similarly in other parts of the world. I urge all our Hindu, Muslim, Christian and other religious brethren to come together and celebrate this year’s Ram Navami.”
